February 26th, 2009 | By WeddingPlanner77

The wedding is replete with traditions and ceremonies. A lot date back to olden times or are new versions of old practices. These practices may vary from culture to culture but they remain the same in essence. All are performed to bring good graces to the new couple. One of the rituals that are becoming more and more popular in recent years is the ceremony of the unity candle.

The unity candle symbolizes the spirit of the wedding. Two individuals becoming one. Each partner holds a lighted candle which they use to light a bigger candle. The smaller candle represents individuality which each should retain while joining together as one, represented by the bigger candle.

wedding favor idea

My sister’s getting married soon and she made me the maid of honor at the wedding. We all know that maids of honor have to help with the preparations and basically keep the bride happy up to when she walks down that aisle. So I basically went through one wedding favor idea after the other with the coordinator. I also planned the wedding shower and took charge of all the other bridesmaids. Who knew there was so much involved in being the maid of honor?

The weeks leading up to the wedding was chock full of activities. It was one event after the other. There were flights to arrange, relatives to pick up and dresses to fit. All the bride had to do was show up and be fawned over. The good thing about all this is, I now know what to do when it’s my turn to get married.

wedding scrapbook paper

February 6th, 2009 | By WeddingPlanner77

I preferred to make my own album to house my wedding pictures rather than go with the one offered by my photographer. He’s an excellent photographer, no doubt about that, but I just wanted to create it as exactly as I saw how our wedding happened.

I decided I wanted to make a scrapbook so I could put in many touches of our motif, and hubby is fine with my idea. I was able to find my wedding scrapbook paper at a bookstore that had been downtown all along but I never noticed (but I’m now glad I did!). Apart from the color motif, I also used a lot of leaves, bamboo twigs, and flowers, since we had an outdoor wedding. I decided against cutting the photos, though; I kept their original shape and deviated by using different borders instead.
