It is a common belief that pearls are unlucky. Many believe that brides should never wear pearls on her wedding day as it is unlucky. Others are more indulgent by saying that not all pearls are unlucky if worn as wedding jewelry; only the tear shaped ones as they connote sadness. Others will counter this by saying that if ever there are tears they are tears of joy.

It is really a shame because pearls are just the perfect jewelry to wear on your wedding. They perfectly compliment the usual white or off-white wedding dress. A pair of pearl earrings will light up the bride’s face more than any other stone would. However, we cannot fault brides-to-be if they shun the pearl. After all, who will want to start an important phase in one’s life with an unlucky streak?
